Directe aanleiding was het tienjarige bestaan van het zwembadencomplex.  Het is leuk als je dan kunt uitpakken met een nieuwe gekleurde verlichting , aldus Winand van de Laer, sportfunctionaris/ diensthoofd van De Kimpel.  Het was heel feestelijk moet ik zeggen. De energiebesparing in het wedstrijdbad is nu al aanzienlijk, meldt Vandelaer.  Wij zitten aan de 15 tot 20 procent van wat wij vroeger verbruikten aan elektriciteit.
